Corporate Members/Draft Corporate Tiers

Update 2016-11: The Corporate Membership tiers have been finalised and announced. The new schema is also described on the OSMF wiki.

The OpenStreetMap Foundation currently has a one tiered corporate membership model. We are considering creating a tiered structure to allow the Foundation to fundraise more money from corporate members as well as provide more services to those interested. Below is the draft structure for a model with such tiers.

The Foundation is interested in feedback as to if these benefits are of interest. Some of the funds raised through these tiers would be used to pay for those services (e.g. legal counsel and a OSM Business Workshop).

Some of these benefits are based on there being a sufficient number of corporate members.

• Business workshop: Contingent on having at least 10 Silver or higher business members.
• OSMF General Legal Counsel: Contingent on having at least 5 Gold or high business members
