* In 2017 Microsoft started its own mapping team, mostly using JOSM.
* Open-sourced machine-learning detection of buildings and roads to the community - available through the [[osm:RapiD|RapiD editor]].
* Recently took an interim-supporting role in maintenance of the iD editor [[osm:iD|iD editor]] (until [https://blog.openstreetmap.org/2021/11/05/self-introduction-of-the-new-id-developer/ Martin Raifer was contracted by OSMF as the long term maintainer of ID]). * Microsoft users see OSM data but don't know that there is a community behind the map and the mapping experience.

* Users are logged-in to their Microsoft accounts and their edits are submitted via a proxy OSM account.

* The [[Local_Chapters| Local Chapter]] in Slovakia is scanning OSM activity in the country, and if there is any malicious activity they begin interaction with the person under the changesets.
* In a few cases, it is necessary to escalate the issue to the [[Data_Working_Group|Data Working Group]] (DWG) and ask for a van. This sometimes slows the process, because it is necessary to explain the situation to the DWG in English, while the discussion with the user is in Slovak.

Issue emerged while discussing renaming Freemap Slovakia to OSM Slovakia - disagreement by some members.
