(04:00:07 PM) rweait1: Hello
(04:00:34 PM) toffehoff: Hello!
(04:01:08 PM) rweait1: Ping RichardF
(04:01:26 PM) toffehoff: Harry traveling?
(04:01:51 PM) rweait1: Could be, I suppose.
(04:02:11 PM) toffehoff: Are we expecting someone else?
(04:02:15 PM) rweait1: Well, shall we start, and see if anybody else joins us?
(04:02:26 PM) toffehoff: cool.
(04:02:33 PM) rweait1: I think JonathanB said he would be away, didn't he?
(04:02:53 PM) toffehoff: I think I was absent last week.
(04:03:23 PM) rweait1: Any topics for today?
(04:03:38 PM) toffehoff: Ah, harry is celebrating TomH birthday.
(04:03:52 PM) toffehoff: And Jonathan should be able to make it.
(04:03:56 PM) rweait1: from old matters we have Memorial fund, redaction update...
(04:04:01 PM) rweait1: anything else?
(04:04:38 PM) toffehoff: Anything we want to bring to attention in MT?
(04:04:57 PM) toffehoff: Except for the usual " we're here to help with comms"
(04:05:11 PM) rweait1: Yeah. :-)
(04:05:16 PM) rweait1: That's all I'm aware of
(04:05:21 PM) rweait1: anything from MT or other WGs?
(04:05:42 PM) toffehoff: This thursday is a MT planned.
(04:06:07 PM) toffehoff: So next week I (or Harry) can give an update.
(04:06:25 PM) rweait1: Cool..
(04:06:33 PM) toffehoff: Still most important item is the redaction process....
(04:06:53 PM) rweait1: LWG is also taking an interest in the redaction updates.
(04:06:57 PM) rweait1: ping mackerski?
(04:07:06 PM) mackerski: pong
(04:07:17 PM) ***mackerski reads back
(04:07:18 PM) rweait1: Hello. Just about to talk about the redaction updates
(04:07:28 PM) mackerski: Ah, well I know a bit more this time...
(04:07:29 PM) rweait1: "How're things?"
(04:07:33 PM) mackerski: Have been hacking on the code
(04:07:49 PM) mackerski: Made a few tests pass
(04:08:05 PM) rweait1: nice.
(04:08:18 PM) mackerski: A few simple cases remain to do with the "significant changes" issue
(04:08:22 PM) rweait1: Are we happy with the "wednesday updates" ?
(04:08:30 PM) mackerski: All related to abbreviations
(04:08:51 PM) mackerski: I know why the remaining cases are failing and want to catch Matt to discuss preferred ways to fix it
(04:09:00 PM) mackerski: That will bring it down to, I think, 13 failing cases
(04:09:11 PM) mackerski: All but one I think relate to relations
(04:09:16 PM) rweait1: Cool.
(04:09:20 PM) mackerski: I'm scared to try and do anything with those
(04:09:55 PM) mackerski: But I think it would be good to have folk consider the impact of those failures and see if we prefer to fix them or accept a less-good approach
(04:10:24 PM) rweait1: Who would you want to discuss that with?
(04:10:39 PM) mackerski: LWG and selected outreach, I reckon
(04:10:40 PM) toffehoff: If abbreviations are a problem, is that anything we can later fix with a bot?
(04:10:43 PM) mackerski: = rebuild group
(04:10:51 PM) rweait1: Amesome.
(04:10:51 PM) mackerski: The abbreviations won't be a problem
(04:10:55 PM) rweait1: awesome.
(04:10:56 PM) mackerski: I think I can fix those myself
(04:11:06 PM) rweait1: anything you need from CWG?
(04:11:08 PM) mackerski: It's the relations I'm more interested in
(04:11:13 PM) mackerski: Probably not
(04:11:14 PM) toffehoff: great.
(04:11:33 PM) mackerski: An OT thing - I see a few of us are already signed up for Where camp Berlin
(04:11:43 PM) rweait1: shall I ask write a draft and send it to you and Matt for Wednesday?
(04:11:44 PM) mackerski: Might be a chance for a face to face if others are interested
(04:11:53 PM) mackerski: rweait1: Sounds good
(04:12:03 PM) rweait1: When is Berlin?
(04:12:05 PM) mackerski: Suggest you check out the code and run it locally...
(04:12:11 PM) mackerski: That'll show you what's failing
(04:12:14 PM) mackerski: 22nd June
(04:12:20 PM) rweait1: okay.
(04:12:32 PM) toffehoff: face2face in berlin sounds ok to me.
(04:12:42 PM) mackerski: There is one case under "needs-clarification"...
(04:12:49 PM) mackerski: Let's take that to LWG tomorrow.
(04:13:05 PM) mackerski: If we can get a consensus on whether the test should pass as defined I can probably fix it too
(04:13:10 PM) rweait1: Please email it tonight, so everybody can have a think about it?
(04:13:34 PM) mackerski: Yeah, good point
(04:13:38 PM) mackerski: I'll get that out now
(04:13:52 PM) rweait1: Super. Thank you, mackerski!
(04:13:56 PM) toffehoff: +1
(04:13:58 PM) mackerski: Sure
(04:14:14 PM) ***mackerski is now on phone
(04:14:18 PM) rweait1: toffehoff: now that mackerski has set CWG on the right path, are we done?  ;-)
(04:14:44 PM) toffehoff: You would almost say we are....
(04:15:00 PM) toffehoff: Anything on the memorial?
(04:15:16 PM) rweait1: not much in the way of feedback.
(04:15:40 PM) rweait1: i think the anouncement got lost in the Apple thing that was announced an hour or two before it.
(04:15:47 PM) toffehoff: I did however get a mail from a father of a dutch mapper who passed away a couple of years ago.
(04:16:03 PM) rweait1: Oh dear. I hope you offered condolences?
(04:16:11 PM) toffehoff: I did already in the past.
(04:16:47 PM) toffehoff: Something with why does Ulf get so much attention and not my son. Since he was also a very enthousiastic mapper.
(04:17:11 PM) rweait1: :( I'm so sad for him.
(04:17:23 PM) rweait1: I see the memorial as for all deceased mappers.
(04:17:30 PM) toffehoff: It took me a while to write a response.
(04:17:43 PM) rweait1: For ulf especially as he was a more-public figure, and was a member of the board.
(04:18:00 PM) rweait1: but I do see the memorial as for all past mappers.
(04:18:34 PM) toffehoff: Well, we're always going to step on someones feet.
(04:18:46 PM) rweait1: I certainly had the names of several other mappers in mind as I was drafting and posting the information.
(04:20:01 PM) toffehoff: I've tried to explain that with Ulf being a more-public figure and the way his life ended triggered this memorial.
(04:20:48 PM) toffehoff: And there will, unfortenately, be many other mappers who will follow in an tragic early death.
(04:21:07 PM) rweait1: :( Not many, I hope.
(04:21:48 PM) toffehoff: If we're working with more than half a million people.....
(04:21:54 PM) rweait1: Do you want CWG to write the the father?
(04:22:08 PM) toffehoff: And many is a subjective value.
(04:22:45 PM) toffehoff: You were already thinking of a few. I know a couple....
(04:23:07 PM) toffehoff: to me 5 is already many ....
(04:23:07 PM) rweait1: this is a bit depressing. Anything we should be acting on?
(04:23:17 PM) toffehoff: Sure.
(04:23:29 PM) toffehoff: I don't think so.
(04:23:44 PM) rweait1: Okay. Shall we wrap it up until next week then?
(04:23:53 PM) toffehoff: I'll be starting with a new job on thursday.
(04:24:00 PM) rweait1: Congratulations!
(04:24:06 PM) toffehoff: Might have a bit less time the coming weeks.
(04:24:07 PM) toffehoff: Thanks.
(04:24:19 PM) rweait1: Okay, keep us posted via the list.
