Elect new chair

The group starts the next election attempt after the first attempt 4 weeks ago.

No-one has put forward a candidature. Tobias will email about the new chair so the post can be filled.

Communication methods

In the survey by Adam, most votes have been for email. A second good candidate is to have a bridge between IRC and Matrix.

Telegram can apparently be bridged as well. Adam volunteers to create a Telegram channel and connect it to Element.

Actual business

Microgrants

Salim has reviewed the existing material about the 2020 Microgrants run and made a presentation. It is reflected there for some potential improvements of a renewed programme.

Website work

There has been a bid for the mute users feature by Gregory Igelmund. Roland has already sent a mostly boilerplate welcome message.

Andrew volunteers to get in contact with Gregory about the actual content and how to proceed. Tobias will support that conversion if necessary.

The bid shall be reviewed in two weeks.

Test Double

Adam wants to connect with Robert about handing over the TestDouble contact. Although Gregory's bid makes this less urgent we are still interested especially if they are willing to work pro bono.

Vector tiles

The EWG asked the board about whether the work offer by Paul Norman is actively pursued. The board gave insight into the state of the work.

Sarah and Guillaume from the board are currently working with Paul about the details. They ask us to come back to us at a later point to take over project oversight at a point where it makes sense without creating interdependence with the Operations Working Group.

Indepently of Paul's work, Roland attempted to channel the aired frustration about OSM Carto into a result-oriented thread. This has yielded an impressive list of approached that for sure will become handy to complement some aspects of the ongoing work.

Souvereign Tech Fund

The Souvereign Tech Fund has signalled to us that they are still reviewing our application.
