Board/Background/OSMF relocation or subsidiary

From OpenStreetMap Foundation

The OSMF board is considering relocating the OSMF to the EU / creating a subsidiary. Reasons stated include the EU database protection rights (see information by Simon Poole). A move to the EU means that we have to move the Contributor Term agreements.

1 osmf-talk is the mailing list for OpenStreetMap Foundation members (Join the Foundation). All past messages are available here.

Please note that there were also previous extensive discussions about Brexit and its effects by the Licensing Working Group (LWG) (search the LWG minutes for "Brexit" or "relocation") and the issue was also previously discussed by OSMF members and the board.
